Getting around in the vicinity

he house is situated in the noble heartland of the territory of Siena, within a 20-30 km radius you can reach Montepulciano, Pienza, Val d’Orcia, Montalcino as well as the city of Siena.  Still only 30 km away is the city of Arezzo, famous for its Antiques Fair, the house of Petrarch and the works of Piero della Francesca.  Within 40 mins you can get to Perugia, in 60 to Florence.  From Arezzo station you can get a train and in 90 mins be in the centre of Rome for an easy day trip.
You can walk along the country road which leads to our house ( 800 m from the highway ) and carry on to the Castle of Modanello ( 3 km ) where you can buy qood quality wine.
At Rapolano ( 5 km ) as well as the Thermal baths and pool, you can discover the rich tradition of limestone or visit the Grancia museum in the nearby Serre, before visiting the Sienese Clay hills: the museums,the mediateca and the old town centre of Asciano; the passage through Chiusure and the splendid Monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore towards the Cassia and the Val d’Arbia is a unique experience, still unique is the road between Asciano and Siena with its undescribable scenery.
